Larry E.
Gateley, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Gateley has been
in the upstream oil and gas sector for 39 years, playing an integral role
in the evaluation, analysis and closing of numerous producing property
acquisition transactions valued at between $800 & 900 Million. Mr. Gateley's upstream experience also includes reservoir
engineering, corporate reserve reports, production
operations, drilling engineering and managing joint operations.
From 1997 to 2012,
Mr. Gateley was with Chaparral Energy in various engineering and
executive management roles as a Sr. VP, 13 years of which he was
responsible for A&D and Corporate Reserves and recently had
additional responsibility as Sr. VP & Southern Region Manager
responsible for an annual capital budget in excess of $100MM with approx.
3,000 wells and about 10,000 boepd of
production. While at Chaparral, his team completed notable, significant
acquisitions for $76million, $115million and $500 million, along with
numerous smaller transactions each under $20million.
Prior to
Chaparral, Mr. Gateley had established himself as a petroleum engineer
focused on reservoir engineering and acquisition evaluation in the oil
and gas industry for SMR, J.M. Huber Corp., Post Petroleum, Wood/Gate
Engineering and initially at Exxon, further testament to his broad
experience in the E&P upstream sector.
In addition to
memberships in various industry organizations, Mr. Gateley is a
Registered Professional Engineer in both Oklahoma and Texas, a member of
the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Mr. Gateley holds
a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
